GoodLink 4.0 provides end-to-end security for even the largest, most security-sensitive enterprises. It protects corporate information at all times — while transmitting over the wireless network and while residing on the handheld. The Good System incorporates several industry security standards, such as AES and FIPS 140-2, as well as Good's own patent-pending security technologies. No additional security software or firewall modifications are necessary. Network Perimeter SecurityGoodLink safeguards every message and transmission between the server and the handheld device and vice versa. This end-to-end system uses AES encryption with FIPS 140-2 certification—a critical security standard for many government organizations. Plus, a unique Positive Acknowledgement Architecture confirms the delivery of all messages, in the correct order with no duplicates. Handheld SecurityPassword configurations are only half of it. When the handheld is locked, Good applications won’t display any of the user’s data, and if an unauthorized user tries to guess the password too many times, GoodLink will delete any Good application data stored on the handheld. IT managers have total wireless control over a plethora of password policies and can remotely disable or erase a user’s handheld if its ever lost or stolen. AuthenticationGoodLink Servers reside behind a corporate firewall, and any handheld contact requires a three-step authentication process between the GoodLink Server, the Good Operations Center, and the handheld device. Administrative SecurityRole-Based-Administration (RBA) features allow permissions to be customized according to the needs and qualifications of each user. Because permissions can be based on skill and job function, RBA not only increases the overall security of the system; it helps enterprises efficiently manage IT resources. E-mail SecurityGoodLink keeps viruses away by refusing executable code (such as .EXE files or Visual Basic scripts) within an e-mail or attachment. Meanwhile, VeriSign® technology for digital-ID-signed e-mail enables GoodLink users to read digitally signed e-mails — even if the message body isn’t sent in clear text. |
